This week, BKP celebrates the 83rd birthday, of the living legend, and Detroit Tigers' fan-favorite pitcher, Mickey Lolich. Although he is most recognized for his 1968, World Series MVP heroics, that saw him out-duel Cardinals' Ace Bob Gibson for the championship prize, it is way too easy to forget that his 2,832 career strikeouts, are still the third most by a southpaw, behind only Steve Carlton and the "Big Unit" Randy Johnson. He was a durable Clysdale, that finished close to 40% of his starts, hurling195 Complete Games and 40 shutouts, in his 16 year career.
